Twenty years ago I had the idea for a book. I wanted to build a world, a world steeped in traditions that were so different than what was around me. I wanted to take a girl my age on a journey, a journey of exploration to find herself. While it started out as a young romance, what it became I could never fathom.
It took fifteen years to write my first draft, but it took that long for God to work in me the story He wanted me to tell. The original story I started to write as a high school teenager fell away as I grew myself and became a coming of age story that I never would have expected. But I love it!
